We are pleased to confirm we have approved funding to support another three great exhibitions which will take place at the Old Parcels Office in 2022/2023.

Since opening just over a year ago, the Old Parcels Office has attracted over 6000 visitors with its exhibitions, music nights, festivals and workshops and is loved by all who attend, achieving 4.7 out of 5 for visitor experience and 4.8 out of 5 for artistic content in a recent survey.

 

PRIZED   12th – 27th November 2022 

An exhibition of work featuring six talented emerging & mid-career artists who are already attracting regional and national interest. This exhibition will attract an audience of art lovers from across the region as well as local residents.

OPO Open 2023 Exhibition   11th February – 12th March 2023.  

This exhibition will attract a large and diverse audience of family and friends of those artists selected for the exhibition and those who are interested in contemporary art.  Last year’s open exhibition attracted over 140 entries from across the UK and was attended by over 600 visitors.  

How are we supporting? 

Curator’s and judges’ fees, producing marketing materials and a prize for the winner.

Exhibition by The London Group  25th March – 23rd April 2023.  

The London Group was set up in 1913 with the aim of creating a powerful artist-run group to counterbalance the large art institutions. It has gone on the nurture the careers of many of Britain’s best-known artists. There are currently 98 members of the group. We will be showing work from 10 of the members. 

The exhibition will attract visitors from across the region as it will be the first time that the group have exhibited in the north of England. 

The dates of the exhibition will enable friends and family of the artists from London to come up to Scarborough to visit the exhibition during the school holidays.

Total Funding for all three events =  £7,380 

Supporting events that are rich in culture and feature not only our homegrown talent but those both regionally and nationally helps to boost the reputation of the Yorkshire Coast as being a key destination for culture with both visitors and residents alike.
