Social media is an essential tool to not only engage and communicate with customers but a way to build your brand locally and increase customers too.

During 2020 the majority of businesses needed to diversify and adapt to continue trading quickly. We understood how valuable it would be to have an additional social media outlet to amplify their messages and help communicate to new, local audiences.

In September 2020, we launched Love Yorkshire Coast on Facebook and Instagram as a place for people who love the Yorkshire Coast to see activities, offers, and things to do in our high streets and villages.

This has provided us with a platform to create geographically targeted, boosted posts, competitions and a way to share content from our BID community businesses too. 

We have funded

  • Competitions: During October 2020, we created and promoted several competitions 
  • Shop Local Campaign: From November 2020 until January 2021, we created short video reel posts to promote and highlight our BID businesses. 

To complement the activity that took place over the 4 week period, we also included a social media campaign for all BID businesses to be promoted via loveyorkshirecoast with boosted messaging to promote key products and reasons to support local businesses.
