What are the Welcome Ambassadors?

Welcome Ambassadors were hired and trained in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey to provide a safe and vibrant welcome to residents and visitors throughout the towns to help people get the most out of their visit.

The Detail

The Welcome Amassadors key role and responsibilities during May-Sept 2021 were:

Meeting and greeting visitors/residents and provide them with up-to-date information on what to do, see and great places to eat and drink.

Collecting feedback from visitors and residents about where they have travelled from, what they enjoy, would like to see more of and any improvements that could be made.  This feedback will be used to shape future campaigns to attract more visitors to the towns.

Reporting issues from businesses, visitors/residents or what they identify when they are in the area direct to SBC.  Their role was not to replace existing methods of reporting street cleanliness/anti-social behaviour, but it will highlight issues that would affect the visitor and resident experience in the three towns.
