Whitby will be the next location to welcome ‘The Odyssey’ with the next installation in the story titled ‘The Odyssey Embarks’ which sees Odysseus setting off on his return journey home.
The spectacular event will take place on Thursday 3rd November and will feature a huge array of illuminated lanterns of all shapes and sizes in a trail around the Dock End area of the town. The Endeavour will be lit up with special video projections on its side and will be open until 8 pm for visitors, there will also be Odysseus’ ship and themed selfie areas to capture the memories of what will be a magical event.
We contacted businesses around the Church Street and Sandgate area to participate in a trail and have an illuminated lantern to put in their shop windows. Click here to see the map of the event and trail.
This event will then travel to Withernsea, with more details to follow.
