After a hiatus for the last couple of years, Race the Waves returned to Bridlington, with its unique cars and bikes racing against the Waves across Saturday and Sunday.

The event, which was expanded to take place over four days, included meets at Church Green by the Old Town and North Bay to make this a full town-wide event.

It attracted visitor numbers of 80,000 making this investment with the Bridlington fund a significant one. It demonstrated again that supporting independent organisers to bring activities to the Yorkshire Coast can be cost-effective and why it is important for us to continue to work in partnership.

Race the Waves has been featured in many pieces of National and International press, and here is another great round-up of the event on South Bay captured by one of the enthusiasts.
