Last weekend saw the auction of the Puffins Galore! Sculptures in Bridlington – raising a fantastic £94,000, with profits going back to local charities to continue their conservation and protection initiatives on the Yorkshire Coast.

The brightly coloured puffins have been a fantastic success, with people coming from far and wide to see them and, in some cases, visit all 42 of them!

A total of 28 of the 42 puffins entered the auction, which means that many of the Puffins have been bought by their original sponsors and will remain in their original location. We separately sponsored the Flamborough Puffin and have donated this to the Flamborough parish council, which is quickly becoming known as the home to all Puffins!

The project’s chosen charities are RNLI, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, RSPB and Hornsea Inshore Rescue. With the net proceeds of the auction and the sale of the puffins in advance, each charity will receive at least £25,000.

The entire project will be evaluated over the coming weeks, and we will share the report with you when it has been completed.
