We have been informed that a group of businesses is spreading factually incorrect information about voting on the future term of Yorkshire Coast BID. Accurate information is crucial for all of us to make informed decisions and uphold our responsibilities.

We will only ever publish factual information and are happy to answer any questions you have. Still, to avoid any doubt, North Yorkshire Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council have informed us that they will abstain from the upcoming vote.

This means the information being circulated, stating that the local authorities are using their car park votes, is incorrect.

Every hereditament (property/entity) subject to a levy IS provided with the opportunity to vote on the upcoming ballot.

Equally, as per the business plan’s terms, categories such as “Car Parks” are included in the list IF they have a rateable value of £12,001 and are within the Geographic area.

However, both local authorities are exercising their right to ABSTAIN in the up-and-coming ballot.  The business plan will be published later this week and will include everything you need to decide, but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

ERYC Voting Decision

If you choose to not vote, IT WILL NOT BE COUNTED AS A YES VOTE. The ballot works the same as an election, if you do not post your vote, it simply will not be counted at all.

It’s your right to vote, or to not vote, as you wish.
