It was brilliant to see such a great turnout to the ‘Free Weekend for Locals’ at the Whitby Marine Discovery Centre during the weekend of 15th-17th
March. All residents with YO21 & YO22 postcodes with proof of address were granted free access to the centre to experience Whitby’s only aquarium to see the progress and check out the lobster hatchery, plus meet the chance to meet the team too.
By visiting the centre you’ll also be supporting the amazing work of the Whitby Lobster Hatchery and gain an understanding and appreciation of their work. Adults and children will marvel over the marine tanks, showcasing over 30 species of native marine life with familiar faces, like cod, lobster, crabs, and starfish are all available to view up close and personal, allowing you to connect with the incredible marine wildlife that calls the UK home.
