Its a mystery as to why it has taken so long for Bridlington to get the recognition that it deserves for being the Lobster Capital of Europe! The first seafood festival in the town took place in 2019 when over 11,000 visitors attended and we are excited to see this return in 2022 under the newly rebranded name ‘Bridlington Bay Lobster Festival’.
Food Tourism is the largest growing sector in the tourism industry and using Yorkshire, as one of the most well-known tourism brands in the UK, there is an opportunity for Bridlington to own what its seafaring community work so hard for, and be celebrated as the lobster capital of the Yorkshire Coast.
The event, which will be free for visitors to enter, will feature seafood trade stalls; cookery demonstrations; musical entertainment; street theatre; children’s activities and entertainment; local maritime organisations and an evening entertainment programme on the Saturday evening.
