At the start of July, Bridlington Pride returned for its second year, creating a unique event for the town.

The activities were split into three parts.

  1. A parade on the promenade saw 300 people get involved to form the walking parade.
  2. Outside entertainment:  Our PA stage was utilised for performers to provide updates and entertainment as the day progressed, also cross-promoting the activities in The Spa
  3. Inside entertainment and stalls:  In Brid Spa, a space was used where not only traders and organisations could sell and share their information, but this was also the hub of the main entertainment throughout the day.  Two thousand five hundred attendees and 25 stalls provided a great atmosphere and an opportunity to increase their awareness for future events.

The organisers completed a survey with visitors to the event to gain feedback for future events, as well as assess where people were from who attended. this included:

  • 41% of attendees rated the event 5 out of 5
  • 49.3% of attendees came from outside of Bridlington, with 8.6% of those coming from outside of Yorkshire
  • 18.5% of attendees stayed overnight in Bridlington, and when attendees were asked if they would stay overnight if the event took place in 2024, 25.9% said that they would.

We strive to support events that not only provide footfall to the town but are big enough to hold people ideally for 2-3 nights, so it is encouraging to see that this growing event is showcasing Bridlington to more visitors, some of which had never been to the town before but would return.

This event was funded from the Bridlington fund to the value of £9,100 which included:

Organisers:                                     £8,500

PA Trailer transport and setup:  £600
