It was brilliant to be out touring the Coast this week, visiting BID businesses that could form our initial network of EV car charging points.
Electric car sales have rocketed in the last 5 years, and our focus is to establish a rural network of electric car charging points to install 10 charging locations before September 2021.
Site visits at this stage enable us to check the viability of each business in terms of access, electricity supply, and any groundworks which will be necessary.
To provide the biggest benefits for our BID businesses, we are looking at installing chargers that take 2 hours to provide a 50-mile charge, encouraging users to stay for food, drinks, and overnight stays.
All costs are covered by the BID, and we plan to continue to increase our network in the future to provide more BID businesses with this excellent resource.
