The Department for Levelling Up awarded Scarborough £20m from the Government’s Long-Term Plan for Towns Housing and Communities.

The money will be spent at the rate of £2m per year, 75% capital and 25% services. NYC is currently consulting on how to prioritise the spending, and the consultation expires on Monday, June 3rd. The time to respond is short.

The Council particularly want to hear ideas that ‘contribute to projects aimed at enhancing safety and security, reviving our high streets, preserving our heritage, and improving transportation and connectivity.’ They add, ‘It’s not just about infrastructure; it’s about creating a vibrant, inclusive community where everyone feels at home.’

The consultation uses a handy online marker map for comments.
