BRIDLINGTON FUND
The Tug of War Association (ETOWA) was founded in 1958 and is the governing body for the National Tug Of War Championships in England and has joined forces with the Bridlington Rugby Union Football Club to deliver the 65th Anniversary event in Bridlington for 2023.
The detail:
Teams travel from all over the UK to compete in this long-running sporting event which celebrates its 65th Anniversary at the event on 17th June 2023
Participants and spectators will stay two nights plus during the event
The event is pre-publicised and live-streamed
Holding the annual event helps to position the Yorkshire Coast and will put it on the sports map, making it a potential venue for future National Championships and other events in the future, possibly even international events.
Our funding will provide venue hire alongside specialist staff such as first aiders and parking plus crowd control measures
The event is due to attract at least 300 participants and spectators, all of which will stay two nights for the event. The organisers have agreed to share a list of suggestions on where to stay, eat and other activities to do that will we provide.
The event will provide widespread exposure to the area and open up the area to many people who will never have visited before. It will also support the Rugby Club in developing out-of-season activities.
