The Brid Bus is a great example on how a simple idea can be transformed with the help of the BID. This project was born from an idea from the Holland family in Bridlington, and after research and costing, the Board agreed to fund the project as a trial.
What is Brid Bus? Put simply, we created a website and advertised free coach travel to Bridlington, from Sheffield, once people confirmed they had booked 2 nights’ accommodation in the town.
The bus will travel on Friday 4th October and return on Sunday 6th October, we have chosen those dates as they fall outside of any half terms, major events and of course the summer season.
We plan to gather as much customer feedback as possible from the trial to let us look at how best to shape the experience in the future providing it is a success. We will also be focused on making sure that as businesses you are given the tools and support going forward to maximise this new opportunity.
